Denisha "Dawn" Hightower-Alston is the founder and creative force behind Love, Puddin’, a gourmet dessert brand rooted in tradition, community, and soulful comfort. Her journey began over 12 years ago, inspired by recipes she learned from her aunt as a young child. What started as a family tradition slowly grew into a passion that followed her into adulthood. In 2013, after encouragement from her best friend—who believed her puddings deserved to be shared beyond family and friends—Denisha began experimenting with new flavors and officially selling her desserts to the public. What began as a small, heartfelt venture quickly turned into a brand embraced by the community, known for its rich flavors, nostalgic feel, and intentional love poured into every dish.
Since then, Denisha has remained deeply connected to the community, participating in countless vending events, festivals, school partnerships, and community givebacks. Her work has been featured across local media, including multiple appearances on WJZ-TV, and recognition in publications such as Voyage Baltimore and Baltimore Magazine. These moments reflect not just business success, but the trust and support she has built within the city she proudly serves.
A recognizable part of the Love, Puddin’ journey is Denisha’s beloved pink vending van—affectionately known as Big Pink—which has played a major role in expanding brand visibility and bringing desserts directly to the people. August 2025, alongside a sisterhood decades in the making, she co created Headquarters, a women led culinary collective born in the heart of Waverly at 3433 Greenmount Avenue. A space where inclusivity is not a concept but a standard. Where vegan and non vegan, comfort and luxury, tradition and innovation exist in harmony. A space that reflects everything she believes food should be.
